Thanks to the unique design of extruder, goofoo 3D printer can print with wide range filaments in the market, the normal one, the flexible, the abrasive, the low temperature and the high temperature etc. Today we would like to share how to print the flexible material TPU or TPE with goofoo FDM 3D printer.
1) The first step is to make sure the successful filament feeding at the beginning, so we can press the release arm and push the filament down into the nozzle instead of automatic filament feeding, which is helpful to avoid being stuck in the drive unit parts and the failure at the beginning.
2) The setting of the print speed and retraction in the slicing software is important in printing with flexible material. As we know, the flexible material is very soft, if we print under high speed, it will definitely result in the clogging. That’s why we suggest to print with lower speed at around 10~20mm/s and turn off the retraction.
3) If the first 2 steps can’t help you out, don’t be frustrated. We still have some good suggestion that you can replace the brass driver gear to the one with the sharp gear or the one of stainless steel, which has stronger bite force, enabling smoother filament feeding.
